Flowers Are My Favorite

Sorry, but Tasha is out today.  I know, I know.  It grieves me too.... but I guess she has a life.

Sunday was Grandparents Day.  He-man and I received a phone call inviting us to breakfast at Pleasure and JD's house.  When we got there we could hear no grandchildren.  Sunshine and Dreamer had gone to their father's for the day and  Boo and Tornado were sleeping.  While I would have liked to have wrapped my arms around those little people, the morning with Pleasure and JD was a perfect present. It is not often that we all get to visit without interruption. Couldn't have been better!

Later the same day there was a gentle knock at our door and in entered Bluebird.  She was carrying a plate of chocolate dipped strawberries, grapes and marshmallows.  Sci-Guy was behind her with a tiny bottle of flowers.  Hand-made notes and hugs around made our Grandparent's Day complete.

Since as long as I can remember, I have loved miniatures, especially bottles.  I used to collect them, but gave that up years ago when I decided that there simply would not be enough room in our home for as many tiny, adorable bottles that caught my eye.

But nothing could have been better than the glass bottle with tiny pink flowers that was delivered on Grandparent's Day.

Simplicity has always held the most beauty for me.  These little flowers made me happy.

And so did the scrambled eggs, bacon, peaches, strawberries, pancakes and grapes that Pleasure cooked for breakfast.  Yum. Yum.

I hope you eat well this morning.  I hope you have uninterrupted time to listen, laugh and enjoy another.  I hope at least one thing of simple beauty catches your eye.  I hope love calls you on the phone and knocks on your door.
