It started something like this........ "Honey, I've been thinking." As soon as he-man hears that he knows he is about to get an assignment.
He slunk a bit lower in his easy chair, like he was trying to make himself invisible or something. But when I get an idea, there's no hiding. Just ask he-man. He will be happy to tell you how I am.
At any rate, I got this idea for wall art and I needed his carpentry skills to pull it off. So yesterday he-man spent five hours in his garage contemplating, measuring and sawing, leaving me a pile of sticks. Just wait til you see what I do with those sticks!
I'm leaving you with some clues below. And when the project is complete you can bet I will be posting pictures of that too.
I'm off to meet my spiritual director so today's post is short. Maybe a brief visits fits your schedule better today as well. Come back and visit when we can both linger. I love having you in my home.

He began with a fresh board from his stock pile |
And it was transformed into these ( I told you he was making sticks) |
Then he found some other material in another stock pile to form a large circle |
Line up all the sticks for a measurement |
Then the cut |
Hey, wait a minute. Did I measure that right? (the proverbial question of the carpenter) |
Check the angle |
Recheck the angle and cut again |
This is what you get: 80 long pointy sticks |
and 80 shorter pointy sticks |
And for those of you who may have noticed the lantern in the background of some of the photos, that is what he-man made the day before for Middle One. She came over and worked with her dad in his garage. They put their heads together to make a side table and a lantern from an old moving cart. The wood was weathered and splintered and well used. Just how Middle One likes it. I will send you a photo of the as it sits in her living room later. But check out the lantern below.
It is in raw form now. It will become more unified after Middle One does her magic. I will send a pic of it with the table.
I hope your day is sweet. I hope you have an opportunity to work your magic... to create art in what ever form you choose. I hope you happily anticipate the end result. I hope you get to be with someone whose company you enjoy.
