The Color Yellow

Did you know that yellow is the most stimulating color on the color wheel?  Pleasure did.  She wanted to support JD in his studies for the Lieutenant's test which will be administered in October.  And she did it with yellow.  Now, you must know this little fact about Pleasure.  When she commits to something... she commits all the way.  There is no middle ground when she sets her mind on a task.

JD had set up a study space in a small corner of Dreamer's brown and orange bedroom.  But once Pleasure read about the stimulating effects of yellow that corner changed overnight.  It now looks like a lemon wedge atop lemon meringue pie served over a bed of pineapple tidbits with a side of country cornbread times ten.

She wrapped the walls in yellow paper, bordered his study table with yellow Lego's, hung yellow words of encouragement on the light

and placed yellow makers in a glass of brightly colored beads with, you guessed it, yellow accents.

But the detail I liked most about JD's yellow study corner was the letter Pleasure left for him to read.  She told him that she thought about what she could do to support him during this long study period.  It occurred to her that one of the things she has always done well is cheer others on.  After all, she was an All American cheerleader in high school and she hadn't forgotten how to motivate a winning team, as you can tell by the insert of a portion of her letter below.
It's true, you know.  Pleasure is one of the best cheerleaders I have known (and I've known so many).  It was Pleasure who cheered me on to create a blog.  She encouraged me with high energy chants of  "You could write about your grandchildren!  You could write about all the things you paint!  You could blog.  You could bog,  Go Yaya Go!"

She supported me in my design work and told her friends that I could help them with their design questions and fears.  She cheered me on when I asked her opinion about forming a small business that would do just that.... help young housewives/mothers decorate their homes to reflect their personalities and not put them in the poor house. Although I have thought about doing something like this for years, I would not have made the leap without a good cheer song echoing from the sidelines.

Pleasure you are so much more than an All American Cheerleader.  You are the whole bleeping cheer squad!
Thanks for the countless ways you encourage us to live better, dream bigger, climb higher and fret less.

I hope those of you reading this have someone to cheer you on when challenges arise.  I hope confidence replaces doubt.  I hope there is someone coloring a small corner of your world.
