I love architecture, houses, buildings and design. I love family, friends and meeting new people. Seems only natural then that I should marry the two on my blog.
"Where We Live" will feature homes around the country. Some of them will be people my readers know. Some of them will be of my family who live North, South, East and West. And some of them will be homes I simply want to share. Thought I'd begin with my mom and dad's beautiful retirement home deep in the heart of Texas.

Great curb appeal, huh? |
They live on the fourth floor and to get to their apartment one must walk through many a hallway. Good thing there are plenty of spots to rest along the way.

One of 523 hallways (I could be wrong) |

A corner for the jigsaw puzzle enthusiast |

How about a relaxing read? |
 |
A lipstick-checkpoint |
 |
Every apartment has their own front porch decor |
 |
Something nice to look at while you wait for the elevator |
Mom and Dad have a two bedroom, two bath apartment. They use one of the bedrooms for an office, so when I go to visit them I can sleep on their sofa or stay in one of the house suites.
 |
So what do you think... sofa or suite? |
 |
Grand dining and you can even bring your own chair |
Mom and Dad have access to gym, swimming pool, exercise room, hairstyle salon, dining, and theatre, all with out leaving their building... well except if they want to swim.

How would you like this view off your patio? |
Mom loves the view out her bedroom window
Dad loves to putter with the plants on his garden balcony.
They have adjusted well to retirement living..... and why not? Their home is like living in a resort!
If ever you find yourself deep in the heart of Texas, come to 200 Country Brook Drive..... the place of swimming pools and movie stars. .... mmm, maybe that's Hollywood. Sorry wrong television show. Jed Clampett? JR Ewing? Close. All I know is when I am visiting mom and dad I feel like a millionaire and a Texas tycoon.
Thanks for taking the tour. I hope you have a day filled with spots of rest. I hope you enjoy the view, wherever you may be. And I hope that the place you live welcomes you home every time you walk through its door.
