Sunshine and B's project....

I love to watch my kids be creative.  They are so funny when they are in that light bulb moment.

The other morning I was trying to think of something for them to do that would require creative thinking on their part without any help from me.

Honestly, I was trying to get them away from the tv, wii, and their ipods.  The only direction I gave them was that they had three hours to build something in the garage.

B made a set of drum sticks, and two swords.  He used wood glue and a saw.................SCARY TO ME.
But he still has his fingers.  He also used spray paint........which by the way he could have spray painted the whole house because he loved using it so much.

Sunshine designed and created a doggie bed for our dog Copper.  She used nails.............lots of them and plywood and spray paint.

I was so proud of how hard they worked.  I was it warmed my heart to see how proud they were of their own work.

It was a fun day in the ole garage.

Hope you have a blessed day.

Blue Boo.............

My little Boo is feeling blue.  She's had a fever for a couple of days now.  Nothing makes her happy.

I took her to the pediatrician and she cried the whole time.  I snapped this picture of her.

This is after tears, sweating from a fever breaking and a 30 minute wait. Poor Boo Boo...........................

Hope your day is not blue like little Boo.

Our unwanted house guest.................

Everything happens when Joe is at the fire station.  It never fails.

The kids were in the garage building their project....tell you all about that later..... when they came back into the house a huge bug flew in with them.  They were screaming!!!!  The babies were asleep......thank goodness.

I was thinking to myself I have got to be the in-charge parent here and kill this thing some how without getting my children stung in the process.  Joe is our go-to-guy for fighting creepy creatures and things that go bump in the night.  But Joe wasn't home and this particular flying creature was HUGE!!!!  He positioned himself at the top of the window of my kitchen.....way hard to slap a fly swatter up there.
B grabbed my phone and ran in the game room and called Joe like he was going to roll up in the fire truck and help us. He said with panic, "Joe its an emergency!!!!  There is this huge wasp in the house and we need to know what to do!!!!!!"
I was trying not to laugh.  It was cute to see the look of concern on his little chocolate face and how he was going to be the man of the house in Joe's absence.

Thanks to our neighbor, our emergency became just another wacky day in our house of fun.  He had a battery operated fly swatter which zapped the buzzing beast.  Now B has him in a jar and has researched all about him.  It turns out this bug is a cicada killer wasp.

I love it...a scary experience ends up being a fun learning experience for B.
Hope you have a great day!!!

My nephews....

I had my nephews over to spend the night.  I love having them in our home.  They are both great boys and its been neat watching them grow over the years.

Its funny how when you add boys to the mix pillows begin to fly, kicking and hitting becomes the main language and echos of "I'M THIRSTY, " fill the air.  Our mini blinds were swinging back and forth from the minute they entered the house until they left.  I love them though.

When I first met Clone he was not even 2 yet.  He was everywhere just like Tornado.  I used to change his diapers and give him sippy cups.
Well, I made a mistake during this play date.  I gave the bigger boys regular size cups during lunch and gave Clone a smaller cup.  He has always been Cindy's baby to me, therefore, in a way I think of him as the littlest, but he really isn't.

When I handed out the lunch cups, Clone looked at me with quivering lips and said, "BUT AUNT TARA, I WANT A BIG CUP TOO."  I realized that I was treating him like he was still the baby.  Immediately I gave him the biggest cup I had, which he then proclaimed, "No, Aunt Tara, not that big.  I'm just a kid."

I laughed.....

I took the whole gang to the Aquarium.  I don't know what I was thinking?  Maybe I wasn't.

I was aiming for fun but instead we spent most of our time maneuvering our way through the huge crowd.  We did manage to get a cool picture outside on the bull sharks, though.

Clone had to climb all the way up on top.  He scares me half to death.

When we got home we created our own special maps and the trio of explorers went on a scavenger hunt.

Hope your day is full of noise and adventure.  Hope that you drink out of the cup that you really want.  And when you want something, I hope you go for it and climb all the way to the top.

HAVE A BLESSED DAY
